Structure Void is an Ableton Certified Training Center that pushes music learning boundaries.
Founded by Julien Bayle, artist and only trainer in France certified by both Ableton and Cycling’74 on Ableton Live and Max, Structure Void combines a practical and exploratory approach.
Here, music production, beatmaking and sound design coexist with granular synthesis, algorithmic music and computational composition.
We teach not only Ableton Live, but also Max and Max for Live, which extend its possibilities and allow creators to design their own tools, sequencers and interactive instruments.
Our approach is part of a state-of-the-art process, at the crossroads of spatialisation research, sound design and generative digital art.
Our courses are aimed at all profiles, from musicians wishing to perfect their Ableton Live workflow to digital artists developing their own instruments and audiovisual systems, as well as art teachers and researchers. We offer personalised support, combining online and face-to-face courses, individual follow-up, practical exercises and technical mentoring.
Our courses cover a variety of areas:
-
- Music production and beatmaking with Live, integrating Max for Live to develop customised tools, automate parameters and design advanced sequencers
- Sound design (additive, granular synthesis, FM, virtual modular synthesis with VCV Rack)
- Generative and algorithmic music, with an approach inspired by the work of IRCAM, and mastery of tools such as Max, RNBO and GRM Tools
- Spatialisation and interactive installation, integrating IRCAM’s SPAT, OSC, MIDI, Arduino and sensors, for immersive projects and live performances
- Audiovisual creation and generative art (TouchDesigner, audio-reactive visuals, sonification, live interaction)
We teach you how to extend Live beyond its usual framework thanks to Max for Live and the Live Object Model. This allows you to automate Live, interact with its interface in real time and create dynamic behaviours. We also provide training in the design of Live MIDI Tools, whether generators or transformers, to push the boundaries of algorithmic composition and interactive systems.
Our trainees have access to professional equipment, including MIDI controllers, interactive sensors and sound spatialisation tools, guaranteeing immersive and applied learning.
Whether you are a producer, composer, sound designer or digital artist, Structure Void allows you to acquire solid skills and an integrated approach to sound and visual creation, rooted in research and advanced practices.
